A green cocktail with a candy cane on top.

The Grinch

Ingredients:

  • 100 ml Apple Juice

  • 50 ml White Cranberry Juice

  • 25 ml Citrus Vodka

  • 25 ml Melon Liqueur

  • Green Food Coloring – a few drops

  • Caster Sugar – 100 gr

  • Red Food Coloring – a few drops

  • 1 Candy Cane

Instructions:

      1. Put the sugar in a bowl and mix it really well with the red food colouring, one drop at a time, until you get the desired colour. Then transfer it on a plate.

      1. Take the glass you plan on using for this cocktail and dip the rims of the glass in some water and after that in the red sugar. Coat the rims very well with the sugar!

      1. Add the melon liqueur and the citrus vodka to the glass that you just decorated with the sugar and the apple juice and the cranberry juice to another regular glass.

      1. Add the green food colouring, one drop at a time to the glass containing the apple juice and the cranberry juice and stir really well until you get the desired colour.

      1. Transfer this mixture to the cup containing the alcohol and stir again adding some more green food colouring if necessary.

      1. Add in the Candy Cane and serve!

Prep time: 15 min

Total time: 15 min

Notes:

  • If you want you can leave out the green food colouring since the melon liqueur is a bright green… If you want it to be a dark muddy emerald green just like ours, then add it in.

  • You can also leave out completely the alcohol and make it a virgin cocktail!

  • Another idea to simplify the recipe would be to add in just some apple juice and some green food colouring and leave it like that! A virgin cocktail as well…

Tip: You can use the virgin version of this cocktail as a kids cocktail and put it to good use at a children party.
